TEMPLE BETH-EL OF       BELLMORE                              was established in 1951 to serve the Jewish community of North Bellmore and Bellmore.  Currently, we have members living in the North Merrick, Merrick, Wantagh and East Meadow areas of Long Island, NY as well as many associate members living in other states.

Our Sisterhood and Men’s Club are vibrant and sponsor a variety of activities that enhance membership.

SISTERHOOD is a self-supporting, multi-faceted arm of the Temple. On-going programs include a two-year Bat Mitzvah course, Tuesday morning Women’s Institute and an active PTA.  In addition, Sisterhood supports a variety of social action projects and fundraising events.  Mens Club supports many Temple activities and has been particularly active in providing family outings and sports activities.

 

As a member, you are welcome to join the dedicated volunteers who serve as members of the above committees and other various action committees such as Adult Education, House Affairs, College, Social Action, Talk Temple Newsletter, Shabbes Shul, and more.  Temple Beth-El of Bellmore is also a member of the Bellmore-Merrick Bikur Cholim.

 

Our regular events include special programs that bring our members together to celebrate and participate in Jewish related activities.  These include:

  • A monthly SHABBES SHUL where families come together to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays and share in a Shabbes luncheon;

  • Chavurot where families meet at each other’s homes to share meals and engage in Jewish study;

  • An annual Scholar-in-Residence Shabbat where an invited guest lecturer brings insights into Judaism to our membership;

  • Holiday events for Slichos, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Purim, Pesach, Shavuot and Tisha B’Av.

  • Social programs including dances, concerts and bagel breakfasts

  • Our United Synagogue Youth Programs for children and teenagers that enable them to meet each other and young people from other congregations.

 

Temple Beth-El has an extensive LIBRARY with books, tapes and CD’s covering the gamut of Judaica.

Our JUDAICA SHOP offers a complete line of gifts and religious articles.
